Uber Eats order error adjustments: check and dispute a deduction
Begin with the adjustment charged to your restaurant. Do not assume it equals every amount refunded to the customer. This US-focused guide helps you assemble an order-specific explanation, including what your evidence cannot establish. The example below is illustrative.
By Gusflow · Sources checked 2026-09-20 · Merchant payout adjustments, not a customer refund or bank chargeback service.
- Statement term
- Order error adjustments are deductions associated with customer refunds for order issues. Payments shows adjustments under Customer Refunds.
- Where to look
- Uber Eats Manager → Orders → open the affected order → Dispute.
- Timing
- Submit within 30 days of the original order date. Review does not guarantee reversal.
- Account access
- Submit yourself using Admin or Manager access. Uber prohibits automated disputes and third-party submission; do not share your login.
Verify these platform rules against Uber Help — Managing refunds for missing or incorrect orders and the terms shown in your account before acting.
Locate and review the adjustment
- Select the affected order in Orders and choose Dispute.
- Give the reason and description, with relevant photo or video evidence where available.
- Follow progress in Uber Eats Manager and retain the email updates.
If the dispute option is missing
Check the account role, original order date and affected order. If still unclear, ask merchant support to investigate the specific record; these checks are not proof of why a button is absent.
Approved does not mean matched to your bank deposit
Suggested reconciliation: record the decision separately from the payment entry. Match any credit to the original order and deduction, then verify the relevant settlement. Do not treat a submission receipt as a refund or assume a customer-facing refund equals your restaurant’s loss.
Work through an example
Illustrative training scenario created by Gusflow; not a customer case or a promised outcome.
issue
Illustrative example, not a real customer case: a combo order has an adjustment for a missing drink. The owner has a signed packing ticket and a photo taken before pickup.
records
The ticket matches the order reference. The photo shows one sealed bag but no drink outside it. The owner can accurately say which records exist and when they were created.
limits
A photo of a sealed bag does not reveal its contents. A checked box on a ticket is a record of the packing check, not independent proof that the drink reached the customer. Do not describe the drink as visible when it is not.
next
Suggested preparation: check for a clearer packing-stage record before writing a claim. If none exists, explain the limited records honestly and request clarification of the specific adjustment. Do not present uncertainty as confirmed correct delivery.
Build a useful evidence packet
The following is Gusflow’s preparation checklist, not a list of guaranteed approval criteria.
- Suggested worksheet: keep the original order date, adjustment date and reporting period in separate fields.
- Copy the restaurant’s actual deduction; do not substitute the customer refund total without checking what it represents.
- For each photo or video, note whether the item, order reference and relevant stage are actually identifiable.
- Save the submitted explanation, decision and payment follow-up separately; leave reimbursement unconfirmed until verified.
Prepare your Uber Eats evidence summary
Choose only records you have checked. Your entries stay on this page and clear on refresh. This tool prepares a text summary; it does not access a merchant account, submit a dispute or upload evidence.
The interactive summary accepts an order reference, order date, issue, records you can provide and optional factual notes. Chinese field explanations are available; free-text notes are not automatically translated. Review the summary and attach actual records through your own authorized merchant account.
